NOPD Investigating Homicide in Fifth District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide reported on June 18, 2025, at the intersection of North Prieur Street and Franklin Avenue.

At about 8:35 p.m. on June 18, NOPD Fifth District officers responded to a miscellaneous complaint call at the location. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive male who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene and the incident was subsequently reclassified as a homicide.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are currently available.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
